Ski Training Program for Beginners
You will be able to ski confidently in just 4 days. Every day you will have two lessons with a professional instructor.
Lesson №1
A student is acquainted with equipment and basic terminology of the sport. Instructor explains how to select equipment properly in accordance with one’s own body build (height and weight), teaches how to check the technical state of the equipment, as well as to adjust equipment individually for oneself. Before a start of practical part of the course, the instructor explains behavioral safety on the slopes.
Practical part of the lesson starts with training to keep balance and ski on the straight. The student learns to slow down, to stop in the snowplough position and to use the lift for beginners.
Lesson №2
The instructor will teach you to make the snowplough turns to the left and to the right on easy slopes, keeping one’s own speed. You will master the correct stance to improve the quality of skiing. At the end of the second lesson, the student is ready to overpass from a ground for beginners to an easy slope for public skiing.
Lesson №3
The instructor and the student analyze mistakes and correct them by means of technical exercises. The lesson is aimed at mastering the technique of turn.
The student learns about the phases of ski turn, and also how to act in each of them. The instructor teaches to change speed, rhythm and turning radius of the snowplough turns depending on situation on a trail.
Lesson №4
The lesson is aimed at improvement of the turns. The student will master stance that is used in carve turns. The instructor will teach to slide on edges without slipping. After the lesson you will be able to take a detached view of yourself on the evening video analysis.
Lesson №5
Overpass to more difficult slopes. You will learn to overcome the difficult slope areas using side slipping. At this lesson, the student learns to change angle of ski edging due to the correct foot pressure.
Lesson №6
At the sixth lesson, you will learn how to make parallel turn and master carve turn of the initial level. The instructor will teach you to control the speed and path of motion due to making of the correct turn.
Lesson №7
The student overpasses from easy to normal slopes. The instructor explains why a pole plant is used and how it helps when skiing. You will start learning long radius parallel turns.
Lesson №8
The eighth lesson includes practising stem long-radius turns when skis are parallel with a pole plant. The instructor will teach you to adapt to all types of snow and make stem turns on any snow cover (ice, small hills).
At the end of the lesson a student and instructor evaluate their progress with the help of video analysis.
The student receives advices and instruction for further improvement of his skiing technique.
