Mogul Technique Training

Moguls are the bumps on a slope, appeared as a result of cumulating snow by the skiers when making turns of a small radius. Bumps on Bukovel resort are made with the help of hardware (starting from spade and finishing with grooming machine) on the slope #1A (to the right of its upper part) for the training purpose.  Bump Skiing Technique There are several techniques of bump skiing. The most effective, good-looking, elegant and widely used mogul technique is the so called World Cup Technique which lies in skiing along the line of incidence with performance of amortization and straightening up, and mogul carving (canting) with keeping the upper part of the body practically motionless.  To perform mogul skiing it is preferable (but not obligatory) to have special mogul skis, which differ by having a soft ski-jump bucket, medium stiffness and not having a side cut (the cut radius of modern mogul skis makes up 20-25 m) and they are narrow enough along with this.
