Snowboarding lessons start with using basic terminology for mutual understanding between the instructor and student. No less important is teaching to select properly equipment in accordance with growth and the weight of a student, check a technical state of the equipment and settings.
After preparing a student, he is taught the code of conduct and ethics on slopes. Then, a student is showed how to attach snowboard bindings and how to move properly with one foot attached. Basic stance is also mastered, standing on a snowboard.
Safe falling technique is taught in order to reduce health risk in case of abnormal situations or events beyond the control. A student practises riding down the slope, slowing down with the help of toe side edge. Also, the student is taught to control speed using heel side edge.
The student learns to slip, stop, and control the speed using toe side edge. Also, checking motion and change of direction using toe side edge and heel side edge is taught.
Having gained fundamental knowledge, the student overpasses to a higher level of practice. He learns to use lifts for safe movement on a slope with equipment. Also, he learns to make stem turns with slipping. The exercise is done on an easy slope for public skiing, to which a student overpasses from a ground for teaching beginners.
Program of the fourth lesson includes improvement of stem turns. A student learns and practises change of speed of skiing, rhythm and the turn radius depending on the condition of a slope.
Program of the fifth lesson includes work at mistakes so that student could make a turn more technically. A student reaches higher level in riding and overpasses from easy to normal slopes.
Working with the instructor the student learns to overcome the difficult and steep slope areas. You will make turns with slipping and unloading upwards.
At this stage, you will learn how to make turns with unloading downwards. After that you will do practical training of snowboard riding on more diverse and difficult slopes, using knowledge of unloading upwards and downwards.
The program of the eighth lesson provides for the implementation of basic elements of freestyle. You will learn to jump straight, make SWITCH, OLLIE, NOLLIE and REVERT on a slope. You will also have the possibility to practice in NOSEROLL, TAILROLL, NOSEPRESS, TAILPRESS, NOSESLIDE, TAILSLIDE.
