The instructor will teach the child to select equipment properly in accordance with his body build (height and weight) and check technical state of the equipment, as well as to adjust equipment individually. During the first lesson, children will learn to slow down, to stop in the slowplough position and keep the balance.
At this stage, the instructor will teach a child to make the snowplough turns to the left and to the right on easy slopes. The child will master the proper stance in order to improve the quality of skiing. At the lesson the student will learn to make stem snowplough turns without stopping, sustaining his speed. At the end of the lesson the child will overpass from the ground for training beginners to an easy slope for public skiing.
The program of the third lesson includes teaching to be on firm ground on the slope for public skiing among other skiers. The instructor will teach a child to change the speed, rhythm and the snowplough turn radius, depending on condition of a trail.
At the lesson, the child will overcome difficult slope areas by means of slide slipping and will master the technique of ski control by moving his body weight.
Lesson № 5
The child will learn to ski on difficult slopes and feel the advantage of parallel turns in comparison with the snowplough turns.
Lesson № 6
At the lesson a child will learn to make stem turns of not large radius when skis are parallel and with weight transfer. The instructor will help a child to master carve turn of initial level.
The student will overpass from easy to normal slopes. The child will learn to make stem turns when skis are parallel with a pole plant and feel the difference between basic parallel turn and carve turn.
A child will master stance, which is used in carve turns and will learn to slide on edges. At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to adapt to all types of snow and to make stem turns on any snow cover (ice, small hills).
